Tez Hailu

Tez (he/him) is a first generation Ethiopian-American creative Firestarter with nearly two decades of experience in film, music, and digital design. Rooted in a philosophy of failing forward, he takes a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving, allowing him to uncover insights and opportunities that exceed expectations. Whether in life, creativity, or business, his holistic mindset continues to shape his journey and impact his community.
He passion for storytelling was sparked upon arriving in America in 1977 when he first witnessed a music video on an old-school television. Inspired by that moment, he vowed to one day create something similar. Years later, after participating in multiple cohorts and programs with SPNN as a creator, he now finds fulfillment in giving back and supporting fellow creatives through mentorship and collaboration.
Understanding the challenges many creatives face in navigating the business side of their work, Tez founded Silent Echo Studios to build a community where artists and entrepreneurs can support one another and grow through shared experiences. At its peak, the community brought together up to 15 creatives working on projects ranging from music to corporate and nonprofit events, providing opportunities for skill development and artistic growth.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Tez enjoys recording music, hosting podcasts, and spending quality time with his family.
