Celebrating Local Films. 〰️ Connecting Community. 〰️
The SPNN Film Festival is not your average festival. This festival celebrates local filmmakers, community stories, and the people who make media across the Twin Cities. It is for first time media makers to emerging artists. We believe that media makers should be invested in and celebrated at every step of their journey. We aim to have a low barrier for entry- both for folks submitting media and for folks attending the festival. There will be space for youth and college students.
The festival brings filmmakers and audiences together through screenings, awards, and opportunities to connect with Minnesota's creative community. We are also looking to build in space for networking- something new filmmakers rarely get access to.

About the Festival
A festival built around community media.
SPNN is a community media center. For forty years we have invited anyone and everyone to come to our space, learn media skills, and create content that gets shared to the community. While forty years ago the gear was different and the distribution has evolved, our dedication to new media makers has not. We believe their is power in storytelling and that every person should have the ability to tell the story of their community.
This festival is an extension of the commitment. Now instead of people consuming the media at home (either on our channels or YouTube) people can experience it together in community. No story is too big nor too small for us to share.
