Join us for the first-ever Connect MEdia Festival from February 5th-7th! This festival will feature workshops, screenings, and panels from artists all over the Minnesota community.     Artist Tomas Leal shares his expertise, experiences, and story working as an independent commercial photographer and teaching artist that provides mentorships in photography, videography, and music. He'll share his thoughts on the power of storytelling using photography and how important it is to support others as they find their own voice through photography. This is a 45 minute session with 15 minutes of Q&A at the end.

    Tiana LaPointe will share how her experiences as a youth media intern shaped her career as a teaching artist. She will show examples of her artwork and discuss the values she brings with her as a mentor to youth in the digital media field.

    A panel discussion featuring an inspiring group of Minnesota documentary filmmakers who bring their own very personal experiences and perspectives to their films. We’ll talk about the decision-making behind bringing a personal story to the screen and the lessons learned along the way. Featuring: Andres Parra, Pam Colby, and Da Hee Kim.
