As part of the 2015 SPNN Youth Intern Program, a group of four young women collaborated with In The Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre to create a documentary about the Black Lives Matter movement. They spoke with coordinators and performers who were involved in this year’s MayDay parade, which centered around the theme “Black is Sacred.” The filmmakers also spoke to a community activist who was arrested during the Mall of America protests as well as the president of the Minnesota Association of Black lawyers to learn what the community in the Twin Cities is doing to affect change.
