He's been an influential force on political change on GLBT issues in the state of Minnesota. He was on the Minnesota Human Rights Commission in the 1980's, influential in the passing of the human rights legislation in 1993 in which Minnesota was the FIRST state to recognize and provide protections for GLBT citizens.
