New Angle Fellows 2019-20

November 13, 2019

SPNN welcomes Za'Nia ColemanAdja GildersleveBao VueAdrian MackKevin Yang, and Tommy Franklin to our New Angle Doc U Fellowship program. These six new emerging artists began their fellowship last Thursday. The group will meet twice a month for the next seven months to learn new skills, network, create, and support each other through the ups and downs of documentary work. You can look for their completed pieces to showcase at SPNN in May 2020.

This year Georgia Fort and Joua Lee Grande are leading the program. Each month a local visiting artist will be in to work with the fellows on cinematography, post production, grant writing, and distribution.

SPNN's New Angle program supports emerging documentary filmmakers who are creating their own work and hoping to get to the next stage in their filmmaking journey.  Participants receive a $3000 stipend to support them in producing their documentary.

This program is made possible by a grant from the Jerome Foundation and by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
