MY Reel: Twin Cities Youth Media Showcase
On March 2, 2018 members of local youth media organizations participated in the Twin Cities Youth Media Network (TCYMN)'s MY Reel Showcase. Held at the Walker Art Center, the event featured a media market and art making, followed by screenings of local youth-made films and videos.
Media pieces were submitted by each of TCYMN's member organizations, and a number of awards, ranging from "Best Animation" to "Most Creative," were bestowed upon the entries. SPNN's own thriller, "Kidnapped," took home top honors for "Most Technical" piece.
"Kidnapped" is the result of a large-scale collaborative effort undertaken by SPNN's youth program members. Completed after hours of brainstorming, writing, and shooting, the short film follows Sean, an insurance agent and reformed criminal, as he receives a series of strange text messages. The completed film can be viewed at https://youtu.be/3KrgO1FHgAU.
Congratulations and thanks to all those who were involved in helping make "Kidnapped" such a success!
