The Presidential Election is over, how do I get / stay involved?

"Young people are among the more vulnerable members of our society, and they are also among the least heard. Youth media in an election year gives young people the opportunity to weigh in on the very real issues and policies that affect them-providing that editors and the audience listen. (Kelly Nuxol)"

This next section highlights one of these resources created by civically engaged youth and youth allies from around the country. Whether you could vote or not, you have a voice. Inform yourself, voice your opinions, get involved, tell your story!

www.Genv.net - Youth Venture is a global movement of young changemakers. We are made up of young people - Venturers - from around the world who have launched lasting social ventures that create positive impact in our communities. We also include many supporters: adult Allies, Technical Allies, partners, and the Youth Venture global staff team. All of us believe in the importance of supporting all young people to become changemakers. If we are to become a better society that's more able to address the many social problems we face, then we must have more changemakers in the world to take initiative and create positive social change. We believe that you have to start on the path as a changemaker when you're young, while you're still open to the many possibilities of the leader you can become.

The criteria for becoming a Youth Venture Team are:

• Your Venture's leadership team is between the ages of 12-20.
• Your Venture benefits the community.
• Your Venture is youth-created and youth-led.
• Your Venture is a new organization, club or a major new initiative within an existing organization.
• Your Venture is ongoing/ sustainable (not a one-time event).
• Your Venture has clear, attainable goals, and a realistic budget.
• Your Venture has the support of adult ally.
• You are part of a team that is trustworthy and committed to ethical standards.

If you have any questions about whether your team is qualified, don't hesitate to contact us at info@youthventure.org.
